Mr. Kinison was four days late for the shoot. His manager called me to say he did not know where Mr. Kinison was, and that it was unlikely he would turn up within twenty-four hours. This gave me time to go to Death Valley and watch the Porsche  and Mercedes test drivers try and blow up their cars in the 125 degrees August heat.
